Indian Army organized a “Fit India Competition” at Manjakote, Rajouri district to honour the valour and sacrifices of the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War on the momentous occasion of 25th Kargil Vijay Diwas.
The motive of the competition was to make students aware of the importance of physical fitness.
More than 820 boys and girls students of different age groups from seven schools in Manjakote Zone participated in various sports events. An obstacle track was the main attraction consisting of 10 minor obstacles.
According to Defence PRO Lt Col Suneel Bartwal the ‘Fit India Competition’ witnessed a huge number of spectators including parents, representatives from civil administration, teachers, and civilians cheering for the participants.
At the culmination of the events, prizes were distributed to the participants. While addressing the august gathering, the chief guest emphasized the significance of fostering an environment that encourages active participation in sports.
He also explained to the students that the “Fit India Movement” is a nationwide movement in India to encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives. A selfie point with the logo ‘Hum Fit Toh India Fit’ was established at the venue. The students also formed the ‘FIT INDIA’ pyramid and hoisted the National Flag with pride to remember the great sacrifice of brave men in uniform.
