In a remarkable initiative to instill patriotism and provide an exhilarating experience to cadets, 2 J&K Girls Battalion, under the aegis of NCC Group Headquarters Jammu, organized a motivational visit to the historic Suchetgarh Border Outpost (BOP) for 50 SD/SW/JD/JW cadets of CATC-J1 camp on 15 Jun 2024.
The visit was aimed to introduce the cadets to the rich historical and martial history of the region. The cadets were not only exposed to the strategic significance of the border outpost but also had the rare opportunity to witness the captivating Beating Retreat Ceremony and the mesmerizing drill at the border outpost.
According to Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Lt Col Suneel Bartwal the event commenced with a warm welcome by the Border Security Personnel, who shared insights into the daily operations and the pivotal role of the Suchetgarh BOP in regional security. The cadets were enthralled by the disciplined and synchronized drill performances, which evoked a profound sense of pride and respect for the armed forces.
The highlight of the visit was the Beating Retreat ceremony, a display of ceremonial grandeur and military precision. The cadets observed the lowering of the national flag with bated breath, feeling the thrill and patriotic fervour of the moment. This exposure to such a solemn and significant tradition left an indelible mark on the young minds, reinforcing the values of discipline, unity, and love for the nation.
