Eight women honored for excellence across diverse sectors
In a grand celebration of women’s empowerment, the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) honored outstanding women achievers from Jammu & Kashmir at the 5th Edition of ASSOCHAM J&K Women Achievers – 2025. The prestigious event, held on International Women’s Day, recognized the exceptional contributions of women across various professional fields.

The awards were presented by Sakina Itoo, Minister for School & Higher Education, Health & Medical Education, and Social Welfare, J&K Government, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Anoo Malhotra (JKAS), Director General, Rural Sanitation, J&K, attended as the Special Guest.

Following a rigorous selection process from numerous nominations, eight outstanding women were awarded in their respective fields:

🔹 Retail: Tania Kukreja (Atar Singh & Sons)  and Pooja Gupta (Himalayan Bio Organic Foods Ltd.)
🔹 Education: Rohini Aima (Jammu Sanskriti School)
🔹 Startup & Innovation: Dr. Anushka Vaid (Dr. Amit Multi-Specialty Hospital)
🔹 Beauty & Wellness:  Shivani Arora (Hair Masters Jammu)
🔹 Media: Monika Jamwal (Take One Network)
🔹 Manufacturing: Namrata Modi (Prevest DenPro Ltd.)
🔹 Social Service: Nidhi Dogra Sharma

Breaking Barriers & Shaping the Future
Congratulating the awardees, Ms. Sakina Itoo lauded their achievements, emphasizing the importance of women breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated industries.

“Your success today is a testament to the power of determination and hard work. If you face any challenges in business or require government support, we are always here to assist you in creating more employment opportunities for women,” she said.

ASSOCHAM J&K Council Chairman Mr. Manik Batra expressed pride in hosting the event for the fifth consecutive year.

“We started these awards in 2021, and today, we mark the successful fifth edition. ASSOCHAM will continue its efforts to encourage and empower women entrepreneurs across Jammu & Kashmir,” he affirmed.

Co-Chairman Mr. Bhupesh Gupta echoed similar sentiments, stating, “Women are excelling in every sphere. Recognition and acknowledgment of their efforts will inspire them to reach even greater heights.”
