Former MLA and vice president of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Ms Indu Pawar on Monday exhorted the people to give a befitting reply to the BJP for its anti-people and anti-poor policies.
Addressing a series of mohalla vice meetings Jammu North constituency in kot & Kerwanda area in support of the party candidate on the Jammu-Reasi-Samba seat Mr Raman Bhalla, she expressed the disillusionment of the people of Jammu and Kashmir with the wrong policies of the BJP-led government. She affirmed their intent to impart a lesson to the BJP.
“Heavy turnout of the people in the Congress rallies is a clear indication that common masses have made up their mind to teach BJP a lesson in the elections”, she said and exuded confidence that heavy polling in the Udhampur-Doda seat an indication that the Congress is going to win that seat comfortably.
She highlighted the number of beneficial schemes introduced by the Congress party during UPA-I and UPA-II, such as MGNREGA, Right to Food, Right to Education, and Right to Information.
She criticized the BJP for infringing upon people’s rights since 2014, leading to increased taxes, inflation, and unemployment. She emphasized Congress’s Nyay Pattar manifesto, tailored to address the needs of youth, women, farmers, and workers.
Pointing toward problems being faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir, she said that J&K residents suffered disproportionately under the Modi-led government’s policies, resulting in the erosion of their rights, job insecurity, and diminished status.
She underscored the widespread frustration among the youth and the challenges faced by various segments of society, urging voters to reject the BJP and restore Congress’s governance for peace and prosperity, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.
She urged party workers to remain vigilant and active at the grassroots level round the clock, intensifying efforts to bolster the Congress party and secure victory for the Jammu Reasi seat.
