Weathermen have declared the arrival of monsoon in Jammu and Kashmir, predicting widespread monsoon rain (light to moderate rain at most places with heavy showers at few places) from July 5 to July 8 in the Union Territories of Ladakh and J&K.
According to the weather forecast, a spell of Rain and thunder at many places of Jammu division towards and light Rain and thunder at few places over Kashmir division towards afternoon from June 30 to July 3 is expected.
The noted weatherman Sonam Lotus said, “Models indicates northward progression of Monsoon from July 4. Widespread Monsoon Rain during July 5 to July 8 in Ladakh, J&K, HP and Uttarakhand is expected. This is based on today’s atmospheric conditions. Forecast is subject to change”.
Pertinently, Jammu region is reeling under hot and humid conditions for the past two months with temperature hovering above 40 degree Celsius. Water scarcity coupled with frequent power cuts have added to the woes of the people.
